13 In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory.
Even though it was 16 years ago, I remember it like it was yesterday. I was nervous in the mall trying to pick it out, even more nervous as I waited for her to finish the scavenger hunt I had sent her on, and an absolute wreck as she walked into the room where I presented it to her. I could barely get through the song I had written for her that ended with the line: “Here’s my heart, in my hand, a ring for you, a commitment that will stand, say you will.” I got down on one knee and asking Melissa to commit to marry me and presenting a ring that pledged to her that I would marry her. It was little over a year later that I presented her again with a ring that pledged a lifelong commitment to continually give up my life for her as her husband. Our lives were sealed in an unbreakable bond.
